Fits and starts

Hi there! Sorry no pretty yarn Friday last Friday, but I was busy! What with work and the Memorial Day weekend. I didn't even think I was going to blog today! Phew!

Fits and starts. That is the title of this blog post. Why is that? Well let's see, I guess because I keep starting projects and it brings me to fits of ripping them out again

Case in point:

I have ripped this out twice. I have even started it with a new yarn and have ripped it out. What is this? It's Ishbel. The lovely shawl that everyone seems to be making and NOT having any problems with. My problem is my counts are always off. It's really frustrating to see that you didn't yarn over when you were supposed to like 5 rows down. What is wrong with me? Do I need to take a breather from lace? Perhaps.

Oh but it doesn't stop there....

Case in point #2:

start jaywalker.jpg

I started this Jaywalker back in April. I have ripped it out, started a completely different pattern, ripped that out and started a completely different pattern (which I like much better)

Do I have any pictures to show for this? Nope. I had a long weekend too but no pictures. I didn't even take any pictures of pretty yarn!
Am I loosing my mojo?

Oh wait! I almost forgot! I can show you a FO at least!

YAY!!! I finished this way back in April. I just couldn't show you because it was for Missa. She has been so good to me and I really needed to make her a little somethin' somethin'. This came out kinda big, but when you actually wear it, it has a bit of a slouch to it. She said she loves it, now if only she would send me a picture.....

You can find the specs on my Ravelry page. You know who I am.

over and out.

Just keep telling yourself that frogging is a natural part of the knitting cycle :)

Yep I am on a lace hiatus myself. I've apparently lost the ability to keep track of my YO's.

Great hat! Love the yarn and contrasty colors...

I think there's something going around, because I keep starting projects and then ripping them out for various reasons.

Yay, I love the hat and think I need to make one for myself!

I want to say I have successfully dropped down a few rows to add a forgotten YO but I might be lying... I can't remember for sure.

Oh, I feel your pain! Jaywalkers have never really worked out for me and don't get me started on lace! I can only knit lace if I put a lifeline in every for or five rows. Otherwise, it's all rippy-rippy all the time.

But, that hat? Wonderful!!!! Kudos.

the hat is very pretty... dont worry about your fits and starts I blame that always on warm weather kind of makes you forget that knitting is actually fun and you KNOW HOW TO DO IT! Warm weather makes the brain and fingers do funny things with knitting (like miss stitches and counts and ripping!)

Beautiful hat!

Jaywalkers KILL my hands and I've made one, yes ONE. Couldn't even bring myself to do another.

At some point you'll hit on something that you want to stick with. No worries until you do.

I had not gotten as far as you have on Ishbel but did frog her over the weekend. There was s funky big loop on the first row and, apparently, i found it unsiglty. Now thinking about focus... Focusing on one of the dozen or so projects currently in the works. Thinking this discipline will help me with the patients I will require for lace, grasshopper. If you knit and don't rip are your truly a knitter - deep thought for the day!

Your hat rocks and Ishbel will too!
