Mitten Progress
I have been crazy trying to figure out this pattern. I think I finally have it and I am not sure I like what I got so far.
I think this came out too small for my hand. Am I surprised? Not really as I hardly ever check my gauge. Here is another shot. See if you can spot the difference
This is the thumb side! If you look really close you can see a thumb on the left. I am pretty proud of this because it does look invisible.
Here is a close up of the thumb
Here it is on my hand
I wanted to put a lining in this so it is way to small. This literally fits like a glove!! Ha ha! I had many challenges with this pattern. And I do love a challenge. I knit this with size 5 needles. I think I am going to go up a needle size, try and neaten up my floats, and go for it again. This was my practice mitten.
While I was scratching my head trying to figure it out, I got some progress done on my Roza socks. I am almost at the toe!

Sorry for the crappy pictures.

The glove looks great! Maybe you can find a super thin lining material? maybe the glove will stretch a bit once washed?

I think your practice mitten is just lovely! I can't wait to see your finished pair!

What is this gauge thing of which you speak? ;-)

The mittens look great! I love that the thumb pattern meshes so invisibly. I would try going up a needle size or working in a couple more stitches somehow to widen it. I just made some felted mittens that were the right length but too narrow after felting too. Now they are my daughters! (I posted pics on ravelry) Nice sock too!

That's beautiful! I had to look a couple times, because I thought you meant 'see the difference' between left and right... and it was hard to spot, but I found that spot where there's more green... only to discover it's the tip of the thumb. It was hiding so well. Have you thought about blocking them out a bit? I like my mittens tight, but maybe you could wet them well, and have somebody with slightly bigger hands wear them around until they dry.

Aw, who needs gauge. It's PRETTY!
Hey! I know you're one busy gal but I gave you an award and didn't want you to miss it. :-)

I love your hat and mittens! They look so great! Eh, who needs lining anyway. THat's just more finishing work before you can officially stamp it as done!

Good job on the mitten! I know what you mean about it being too small for a lining. Hopefully going up a needle size will do the trick!
We're knitting at FOE this Saturday if you're interested in coming!
