Busy blogger, no lazy blogger this time
Yes, it's true, I have been busy. But I alway manage to squeak in some knitting time.
I have a progress shot of my purple shawl:

I think I am going to take my time, again, with the edge. I think I want to do a few repreats at a time. I think I am not liking knitted on lace borders. (groan.....) I am going to try and actually finish this and not let it die in my ufo pile.
In the mean time I had my large footed friend from New Jersey go to the yarn store Knit-A-Bit and pick up some yarn (ON SALE!!!) and send it to me so I could knit her and her friend a pair of socks!
She has good taste:

That is Colinette Jitterbug and Lorna's laces! Don't know the colorway's, who cares! Look at it! I have decided to start a pair right away:

Yep, I decided she needs a pair of Jaywalkers. I am thinking the cascading leaves socks would be good for the green yarn.
Okay so that isn't all. As payment for me knitting her these socks, she threw this in the bag for ME!!:

Swoon! I think this will be my summer of socks! I really don't need anymore, but it is so pretty! The blue is the yarn with the aloe in it. I forgot the name of the yarn company. The middle yarn is more Colinette Jitterbug (sorry, don't know the color way) and the end is Trekking.
I have to get busy!

What? No diagram of the foot on a bag? Well, I liked seeing all the yarn anyway! Looks like you have lots of fun ahead!
The shawl is lovely! I was just thinking this morning that the thing holding me up on the one I'm working on is that the border is knit separately and sewn on. Cast on 500 something stitches... might as well be 5000 if you ask me. :-P I'd rather do a knitted on border. Persevere! :-)

Whoa, why have I not known how beautiful Colinette Jitterbug is until now? I think I'm in love!
P.S. Stop by my blog, I need your opinion on something. :)

I'm making Monkeys with Jitterbug (with a contrasting heel/toe/cuff as the yardage isn't as much as one might like) and lurvvvv it!

The shawl is coming along beautifully. And you can never have enough socks! This is my new mantra...
You certainly *have* been busy!

Holy smokes... as if I need to covet more sock yarn! *lol*

I'm diggin' the jitterbug! What a very pretty colorway! And good for you with the purple shawl! You can get it done and out of your ufo pile!

Wow! The shawl...the sock yarn...the sock started! (I have some of that jitterbug, in one of those two colors! but I haven't gotten to it yet...love the color though!)

My goodness! So much loveliness! The potential in those sock yarns makes my head spin.

WOW - that is some good looking sock yarn! Hope the aloe soothes the hands along the way. I know someone that will LOVE her Jaywalkers - Awesome!!

Wow, the purple shawl is looking great! I'm not crazy about doing knitted on borders either, so I think chipping away at it a little at a time sounds like a great idea!

Good progress on the shawl! And yes, do finish it :) I am curious about the yarn with the aloe in it. Let us know if it does anything special.

Hi, thank You for the pictures. I have the same Lorna's laces blue-brown-beige colourway yarn and I couldn't decide what to make out of it. Your Jaywalker-socks helped a great deal. I did put that picture to my blog referring and linking to you but if that's NOT ok, let me know and I take the link away. -sanna-

I think everyone's having a summer of socks!

Oooh, I love seeing other people's sock yarn acquisitions!

The yarn with the aloe in it is Austermann Step, I believe. I am also pretty sure I have that exact same colorway of it. It is awesome. But it's taking me FOREVER to knit into a sock because it's my first in such a fine yarn. Perhaps I need to have a summer of socks too!

Hi Beth! I can tell you the Jitterbug colourway, since I have a skein of it too: 55/toscana. Isn't it lovely? I'm a little concerned that my single skein won't be enough for a pair of socks, though -- only 267 m!
