Good Stuff
I had a crap week last week. Everyone has them. So when I came home on Friday and found a box that was for me, I got very excited.
See, I won a contest over at Sweet Georgia's. YEP!!!!! Me! I WON!!! YIPIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
Now all I had to do was guess where she was going on her trip(hiatus). I guessed right, me and a couple of others.... and she sent me this:

Which I would have been more than happy with! But also included in the box was this:

SWOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really, she should have just stopped at the 1 skein, but I also found this:

OH MY! It's called "Fairy Floss" and it is lace weight mohair!
All of this wonderful stuff is hand dyed by
Sweet Georgia's herself. I have been drooling over it for quite some time now. I really really want to thank her! (which I will) She made my day, week, month.
Thank you! It meant a lot to me.

Wow! Those are gorgeous yarns. I can't wait to see what you make with them. I have a couple of lace patterns for the mohair if you'd like to look at them but be warned... you never frog mohair! (yup, that's experience talking!!!)

You LUCKY GIRL! I am actually working with, right now, the Rusted colorway. It is being used for my new commuting socks - and it is so lovely.
Can't wait to see what you transform everything into!

Wow! That is incredible, you lucky woman! Now go get a napkin and wipe up that drool, I know I need to. slobber slobber. (being that I am either insane or just weird, I have frogged mohair...a commercial sweater!).

I felt like i was peeking into your life. One who spinsI am in my fifties and just started to spin on a spindle .After years of crocheting I have discovered fiber and am going crazy wishing for a cheap wheel. An India charka is the cheapest but I don't know enough to know if I'd be wasting my money by buying one? Thanks for the look see I've made many hats and I just made my first felted purse all spun by me ,it's fun but lonely .I need to find people!!!!! Take care and God bless Ya' Bev

Ooooh, absolutely gorgeous!! I was a regular reader at her blog, so I'm really bummed she's on hiatus, but it's good that she's getting time off.
Again: that yarn makes me drool!

Is the middle yarn Sweet Georgia's Rusted (something like that) colorway? If so, I knitted my son socks from it and oh oh oh they came out wonderful!
Posted by: kitkatknit at April 3, 2007 10:22 AM
That's a very nice and pretty prize package. Don't drool on it too much, esp. the mohair, you wouldn't want to start the felting process. Congrats!!
