New project news

Well, thank you all for your very nice comments about my sweater!

What should I do next?

newsock.jpg

Well that's what it looked like yesterday afternoon. As of right this minute, it is a neatly wound ball. Yep, I frogged it. I wasn't feeling the love for this sock. You know what I mean? That feeling where you can't stop knitting on it. I got pretty far too with out feeling the love. I think what turned me off was the fit. It didn't. It was too big. So I am starting something new. Don't know what it is yet, but you can be sure you all will be the first to know.

Okay, so while I had like 10 minutes of sunshine, I took some pictures of some pretty handspun. Everyone likes pretty yarn don't they?

100% Alpaca. What's the yardage? Dunno, What's the weight? dunno. It's just pretty.

Oh and here is the green that I showed last week:

I still have a lot more to spin. I bought a pound of it. When I say that it just reminds me of going to a deli counter and asking for a pound of olive loaf. Hey! Maybe that is what I should call it! But there is no red in it.....

That green... oh my it is beautiful! I'd love to roll around in it!

Yum...olive loaf....

I frogged a sock last week that was just as far as that one. Didn't fit. Too small.

The green yarn can be "Olive Loaf sans Pimentos". The little bit of french makes it sound sophisticated. ;)

The green is such a beautiful shade... like spring grass...

I recently frogged a sock at about that point! Now it's an anklet and I'm just picking up heel gusset stitches. LOVE that green color! Kalamata cooler? Ok, I know kalamatas aren't green, but I like the way it sounds.

Gotta love the power of the frog!!! Socks should behave.

The handspun is just beautiful! I've rediscovered the spinning of late and am finding more of the love in that than I am for socks that don't want to fit.

Oh and the sock was so lovely. But I know what you mean about socks that are too big. I keep adding more and more negative ease into my sock patterns and have finally found the fit I really like, I am ready to arm wrestle any one for that green handspun What? Not up for grabs? darn.

I love all of your spinning and knitting. I just bought my first wheel the other day and I am very happy with it. I can't wait to knit something with my yarn.

Love the colours in your sock hopefully when you redo it it fits and you have the love for it. :)
The alpca looks lovely and it looks like it needs to be cuddled 24-7! :) The "olive loaf" is a very pretty green and I am not really a green person. :)

Like the colors in the sock. The green is fabulous

Hey, sometimes you just need to know when to quit!

I love what you've spun. I wish I could fine tune my spinning so that it looked that lovely!

The yarn you spun is so pretty. I like the name Olive Loaf...for the brown I like Cinnamon Bun [you have it twisted up so nicely in the picture] since going with a deli theme and naming it Meatball or Ground Round isn't as attractive.

Ahhh... I just love the green... you know that I'm a green person? ;)
Boring, boring, boring socks... yes... but a lovely yarn ;) How could you find a pattern as boring as this one? I can't belive it... that's not you, ;)
Hugs... yeah, you know... :)
