Hi There!
Guess what?

Yep! I got it done! I actually finished it up on Sunday, but I didn't have any buttons. Silly me thought I made only 8 button holes, but I made 9 (just like the pattern said) and I only bought 8 buttons. I couldn't get any more because I bought the last 2 on the rack! So I have an odd button on the top. Here is a detail shot:

Specs:
Pattern: Feminine Puff sleeve cardigan from Fitted Knits (I think that is what it is called)
Yarn: 5 balls of Brunswick Yarns - 100% Monsanto Acrylic (OH MY GOD!!!! Yes, it's 100 % Acrylic - more on that later...)
Needles: US 5 Circular and US 3 Circular
I loved knitting this sweater. Why oh why did I knit it with acrylic yarn? Well, it was in my stash (I had 14 balls of this stuff) I bought the yarn when I was just starting out and I didn't know any better. Actually it isn't bad yarn, but I think I might like this sweater better if I used the yarn called for in the pattern which was Knit Picks Merino I think. That's pretty cheap too. Would I make another one? You bet. I am not sure I love this sweater and it may be the acrylic. The long stretches of stockinette stitch got pretty tedious, but that was okay. Next thing you know I was at the waist shaping. I had some difficulty with Row 17 on the lace panel. I am not sure if it was the pattern or operater error. Probably the second. So I just winged it. I probably would make this a little longer too. I am just not that comfortable showing my belly fat.
Okay, the next picture is quite funny. "D-Rock" my son (his new name) wanted to try the sweater on. Of course I had to take a picture:

and this too

He asked me if I was going to put this on my blog.
Silly boy.....

The sweater turned out great! It even looks great on "D Rock" :-) Be sure to wear it to the meeting for show and tell! We want to see it in person!

I like it! the sleeves seem slightly less puffy than in the book -- did you adjust them or is it a byproduct of the acrylic yarn? :)

I cannot believe you allowed your son to put on the "Feminine Puff Sleeve Cardigan"...not that there's anything wrong with that.
Seriously, It's beautiful!!! LOVE IT!

The sweater is very pretty!
I know what you mean about the acrylic that lives in the stash. My stash isn't big, but I do have some almost-untouchable stuff in there from when I started to knit. Think LionBrand ThickNQuick in a couple of ombre color blends. Ugh.

THAT is hilarious!!! ....and the sweater...looks super-fantastic:)

It looks great! I love the collar!
I think Kurt would make similar faces if I suggested he put on one of my finished sweaters. I would have to force him and then there would be grumpiness for days.

Came out great! D Rock is pretty funny. And at least it is a nice color acrylic and not as plastic as red heart!

D-Rock knows how to work a sweater! You got a model in the making there. Of course, with such a great sweater, how could he go wrong?

I just finally got my hands on this book and of course Puffy Sleeve jumped out at me *loudly* and demanded to be added to the list. Yours is so beautiful! Tell me, how much ease did you include when choosing a size? The grey color will go with everything in your wardrobe. Little Geek looks divine in it, too, hee hee!

hey sorry i havent been around.
started my new job. and im busy busy busy
so quick catch up... i love the socks with the combat boots those are awesome!
love the sweater but i agree it needs to be longer.
i think it looks great on the kid though:)
nothing wrong with acrylic yarn as long as it is not a bright neon color mixed with brown.
(unless you are knitting something for a hunter)
and i hope all is well.

Love the sweater! Turned out really nice I have been hearing loads on this fitted knits book making me want to go out and buy it. Some Acrylic yarn is really nice and others are really horrible so if its one of the nicer ones then thats alright. :) Just proves the sweater is worth making over in a different colour and yarn. And the knitpick Merino is BEAUTIFUL! made a pair of mittens from it.

D-Rock looks like he's gonna kick some serious ass in his puffy sleeved sweater.

Yes... you don't have a UFO, you have a FO ;) And it looks OK to me, ;) Like the pattern... but if I meet your son... I hope it will be in daylight ;) not in a dark place, ;)
Hugs... from a hopless... you know.. .;)
