Did you think I got stuck in a snow bank?

Nope! I was too busy finishing up these

red socks1.jpg

So this is the only picture I have to show today. For some reason, the picture I took of the back is not working correctly. Which really is okay. Do you know how hard it is to take a picture by your self with these things on? I think I have 20 pictures. NO LIE.

I will take a picture of the back over the weekend when the lighting is better. Because you know, it's all about the lace panel and the heel stitches. The front is boring.

But they are DONE!

Oh and this is all I had left:

whats left.jpg

Not bad eh? I love it when I don't have a lot left. Oh! Here are the specs:

Pattern: Over the Knee Socks from Hand Knit Holiday's
Yarn: 4 balls of Silja Superwash Sock Yarn in Cranberry - got the yarn from Kris
Needles: US2 - circulars (2 of them)

I would knit these again in a heartbeat. They didn't take any longer than the shorter socks. I just didn't work on them constantly. I do have other things to do......

;-)

Ooh pretty! But having that little yarn left would have given me fits toward the end! I forgot to email you to tell you that I posted the snowstorm pics up on my blog finally! Better late than never!

Wow! I can't believe you knit over the knee socks. Seems like they would take forever. But once you get cruising on a sock, what the heck, might as well add a few inches or ten, right? hee hee. Honestly, they're very pretty and I can't wait to see the back view.

I just love long socks!!! I am all giddy with the anticipation at seeing the back panel. Nice job!! And I'd say we are having the perfect weather for a nice pair of loooooong socks.

Wow! Over the knee socks?!?! That's a juicy piece of knitting!!!

Hey, some of us local knitters are planning on a pub knit at Kitty Hoynes on March 3rd at noon. Can we count you in?

Love them! And I really want to see the picture of the back

I knit those socks too with some KPPPM - except I was stoopid and my needles were a bit too small so they're "under the knee" rather than over the knee. And it was close to impossible to take a decent photo! Yours look beautiful.

heeey - nice legs! yep, the socks are gorgeous, too!

Beth! Those look great! And now, I'm going to poke your brain. I have some of this yarn. I was planning to use it for some knee socks. I had thought it was a sport weight yarn. Are you a loose knitter? Or do you just like tighter socks? Or maybe I have silja sport. Just went to look, just silja "strompgarn" or something like that. Rec's 3-3.5 mm needle. Is this what you used? Good to know 4 got you just over the knee. I figure that amount would do cabled and just below the knee. Unless you have short legs? The red is beautiful! And it is hard to take photos of your own legs!

Those look perfect for the kind of weather we've been having!

Those are great! I've always meant to knit myself some tall socks but I just never get around to it.Maybe I need to be stuck in the snow. We've had hardly any this year. And it was dirty and lumpy right away. But maybe I will. I have this little idea that I will move Upstate. Maybe Woodstock. Someplace quiet and green. (Or white).

Yes! Just that is the picture I have before my eyes, ;) You, with your head deep in the snow... and all we will see of you was your legs and loooonnnggg socks... But that is not the case, and there we have the resone... If you have had a picture that way, we would have had a picture - taken by a good old friend - with the back of your socks, ;) Out in the snow!!!
Hugs... ;)
(I just love them...)

Those socks are the best thing in that book, and I love that book. Way to go, Knitter! I love the color you chose.
