Hey guess what?
I joined an "ALONG" and I think it is PERFECT for me!

You can read all about it here. You may have to scroll down a bit to read my entry, which isn't that exciting. I mean not as much as all the other stuff that people are makeing over there. But I figured it would kick my ass to start and finish the mittens. Which, by the way I am much futher ahead on than the picture shows.
Oh and guess what? It is contest time! Yep. Right here. Now I am really not one to whore for comments so this is why I thought I would wait until now. But I am almost to 3,000 comments for this here blog. I appreciate each and every comment (well not the sex ones) and I would like to thank you for leaving comments on this blog. If you are the 2,999th and 3,000th commenter I would like to give 1 each to those 2 people the following:
To the 2,999th I would like to give JAH RASTAFARI

And to the 3,000th commenter I would like to give:

I haven't named the yarn. But it is 100% Alpaca and it is N-I-C-E. Both skeins are hand spun by yours truly
My only rules are that you have to knit or weave or craft or something. I don't want to give this to someone who isn't going to use it or will regift it. Oh and if you make something with it, you have to take a picture and send it to me. That isn't too much to ask is it?
So what are you waiting for! Leave some comments!
;-)
And thank you for visiting me!

Both yarns are lovely, though I must admit a fondness for rainbows - so I hope to be #2,999!
Congrats on the milestone!
Posted by: Jen at January 25, 2007 01:20 PM
Yay! I get to be the first comment!
Anyway, have I mentioned how much I LOVE Jah Rastafari?
Posted by: Caro at January 25, 2007 01:21 PM
Am I the lucky winner? I'll have to check out that KAL...
Posted by: lucy at January 25, 2007 01:39 PM
Not a knit-a-long! Oh now I might have to do one. But I can't, too many projects!
Posted by: katie at January 25, 2007 01:40 PM
Poor no-name yarn! I love it. I would knit with it. I hope I'm 3,000!
Posted by: beverly at January 25, 2007 01:43 PM

Wait, did you day you DIDN'T appreciate the sex comments?? Whoops.
Posted by: Cheryl at January 25, 2007 01:46 PM
Great idea for a big milestone! And I have to admit, I'm angling for the Jah Rastafari!
I also thought about joining that KAL, but I think I've had enough of the pirate hats for a while. Then again I was, just this morning, thinking about the mittens!
Posted by: Carla at January 25, 2007 01:48 PM
I love the Jai rasafarai! My husband is a total hippie and that would look awesome on him!!!
Posted by: flexkitten at January 25, 2007 01:49 PM
You are a perfect Pirate knit-along-er! And boy is that yarn yummy!!
Posted by: Sara at January 25, 2007 02:00 PM
Those are both great yarns! The Rastafari would make a great stole for a minister (is stole the right word?) and the GORGEOUS, luscious, green and gray would make a lovely cabled (once I learn how to do them!) for ME. :) By the way, totally love your blog name.
Posted by: Jen at January 25, 2007 02:01 PM
I love the rastafari yarn I think fingerless gloves would really show it off! Oh and that hat in your last post was just adorable.
Posted by: Marie at January 25, 2007 02:13 PM
Hehe - not the sex ones. Yeah, I think that goes with the territory - the whole spam comment thing. Yuck! What is not yuck though? your amazing yarns!!
Posted by: Lolly at January 25, 2007 02:38 PM
ARgh! I have 2 of those pirate hats on my to-do list. Perhaps I will join the "along" as well.
I've been reading the blog for a long time, but have always been a lurker in the corner. Those fabulous yarns sure make good incentive to speak up for once!
Posted by: cheesehead with sticks at January 25, 2007 02:45 PM
Hey! That's my Pirate hat!!! And eventually my mittens perhaps? Just kidding. Or am I?
Yay for contests!(even those I am not eligible for!) :)
Posted by: Carol at January 25, 2007 02:49 PM
Oooh, oooh, pick me as the winner for either of them! They both look great!
Posted by: Julia at January 25, 2007 02:49 PM
Both of those yarns are lovely and are wonderful prizes. I tend to lurk & not comment, but I always read your blog.
Posted by: Sarah at January 25, 2007 03:15 PM
wow, i love both of those yarns. but i see that shawl back there.. how's that coming along? :) i am your official enabler.
the KAL is fun! i'm enjoying seeing what other people are making with that theme.
Posted by: gleek at January 25, 2007 04:08 PM
I'm also a bit of a lurker, but I do have your blog on the top of my bloglist. (And that's got nothing to do with B being in the beginning of the alphabet, oh no!)
I love the 3000th comment yarn. Beautiful!
Posted by: Joanna at January 25, 2007 04:16 PM
I'm lurker but I love your blog. So I thought I'd comment to say hi & see if I'm close to the 3,000 commenter...I love that unnamed yarn! :) I love the Jah Rastafari too :)
Posted by: Stacey at January 25, 2007 04:19 PM
That alpaca looks absolutely amazing!
Posted by: mote at January 25, 2007 04:29 PM
I can't believe you're giving away your handspun as a prize! Is it bad that all I can think when I finish the yarn is "This is mine! Mine mine mine!"?
You're a generous person, is what I'm saying.
Posted by: Kristi at January 25, 2007 05:21 PM
Yup...that's the "along" for you! Can't wait to see all the piratey goodness... ;)
Posted by: Sheepish Annie at January 25, 2007 06:03 PM
YARRR! Pirate-along!
BTW, I'm in love with the Rastayarn as well. I wish I could spin...but then again, it would take too much time from the knitting ;-)
Posted by: Jaimi at January 25, 2007 07:17 PM
i love your yarns! especially the unnamed one.
Posted by: Kristin at January 25, 2007 07:32 PM
What lovely yarn! And you can part with it! DH says to me tonight he has the best name for a new knitting blog, Barn yard yarn bard! He was pretty amused with himself. So I joined the pirate kal too...just have to figure outhow to "steal" a button w/out stealing the bandwidth. Just a matter of spending some time (and who has extra of that?). I have vague plans for a worsted pirate hat in the same yarn that dh's sweater is in. What are you going to make?
Posted by: lisa at January 25, 2007 08:48 PM
I checked out the mittens on the pirate page. Love the colors the pink and yellow are very eye-catching. I managed to join that "along" to. I'm working on some socks. I just finished the cuff for one of them, not sure how they will turn out.
Posted by: Kris at January 25, 2007 09:49 PM
those yarns are so beautiful! I wish I could spin...
Posted by: hanna at January 25, 2007 10:03 PM

I'm a lurker, but thought I'd delurk...love Jah Rastafari! I just started a pirates hat, and was thinking of joining the KAL - but thought I'd see how the hat goes first.
Posted by: Jeanne at January 26, 2007 04:44 AM
