I am STRESSED!!!!

It's not even Thanksgiving and I am already feeling the pressure....

I guess I really need to slow down. I do this every year. I see things I want to make for Christmas and I PANIC. I just need to breathe....in and out......

Has anyone seen the new issue of Cutting Edge Magazine? Are those Christmas Ornaments not the cutest? Well, I thought... I could make one of those!

Perhaps I should stick to what I know I can do. Knit and spin. Okay it doesn't look too bad... it's a little lumpy and choppy. And I do need to add the little jingle bell and the ribbon. Perhaps my next one will look a little better.....

I don't know what I am worried about. I have like a billion hats done.....

Okay so there are 7. Not a billion. I do these while watching Lost. (Love that show) The top 3 are all handspun yarn too! Why am I showing these? I don't know. I don't even know who I will give them to.

Oh, I have some secret knitting done too. Wanna see it?

Can't tell what it is can ya? Well I am not telling either. What I can say is that it is my gift project for my spinning guild. It's done and blocked. Just need the ends woven in.... That's all I am saying. (Some of them read this blog.)

Oh and I started another one

Hey! It's for my son! He has been begging for one for a while. I thought I could wip this out for him for Christmas. I think it can be done. Do you think I could make another one for hubby? I am going to try.....

I did have a little "ME" time on Saturday. I went (BY MYSELF) to an Alpaca farm that is in the area. I LOVE THESE CREATURES!

Look at them all!

And this one....

It was all I could do not to take it home! But I didn't have like 15 grand on me.

I totallly am the same with Christmas. I don't have anything specific for anyone, so I'm just not making anything! Those hats are cute...whoever gets them will be very lucky.

God is Thanksgiving really next week?

I've never even heard of that magazine, but from the look of the homepage..I love it! Those ornaments are so cute! I may make some myself....
I think I need to track that magazine down. Do you think I can find it at Barnes & Noble or Borders?

Goodness I love Alpaca faces! So sweet. Too bad they cost as much as a new car.

I love your hat collection.

Cute ornament! Looks like you've been busy. I'll buy a hat from you since I can't seem to get anything done lately. I haven't even watched the last two episodes of Lost!

those alpaca are so cute... and expensive! i just love them.

lots of great knitting going on there! channel some of that hat knitting energy my way. i got presents to make as well!

Overwhelming cuteness! The ornament, the alpaca, the thought of your cute boy grinning from ear to ear in his new pirate hat!

Whew.

My Christmas knitting is pretty minimal this year. I'll finish my mom's socks and start my sister's and think about my Grandma's. If I finish, I finish but if not, they'll get them next year and they'll understand because I'll be too busy this year moving into my own house! EEeee! I'm so excited!

That's the highest concentration of alpacas that I've ever seen. Incredible.

DITTO to thanksgiving stress...huh....family...cooking...and so many damn good crafting ideas out there!! whats a girl to do?

Posted by: knottieknitter at November 15, 2006 06:43 PM

I've reached the denial stage. I firmly believe that I will finish everything. Or that I can convince the calendar makers to recall all the calendars and change the date. It is either that or pick a fight with everyone I know and strike them from my gift list.

That ornament is just adorable!! Nice work!

No, those ornaments are cute! I like them and the hats, of course, are gorgeous.

I don't know what's cuter, the ornament's embroidered face or the alpaca's fuzzy one.

I'm new to the Lost phenom, but am completely addicted to the DVDs of season one that we've been netflixing. Every episode is weirder and weirder. Right up my alley. :)

i try to knit during lost, but get scared i will miss something important if i look away for a second, its the one show i don't like to knit during!

Posted by: uglyagnes at November 16, 2006 07:08 AM

what a cute magazine! but i'm not much of a seamstress and do i really need another hobby? and the ornament is adorable.

Posted by: maryse at November 17, 2006 07:39 AM

Woah, that's a lot of hats! And that ornament (though you say it's a bit choppy) is totally cute!

15K? I thought they were 30K (well, maybe that's only for a breeding animal), which is why Mary had a little lamb. I like the orange with the black. There was some talk with my sisters in law of making one for my nephew here in PA who liked my son's too big hat... but in Duquesne colors. His dad though said it would be a fashion risk and he would be happier with a plain navy watchman's cap. Oh Well. We have something in the office like your ornament, but it was made by a 6 or so year old (didn't look anywhere as nice as yours!). It may be made of an old sock, filled with sand. Gets passed around for the unsung heros of the office. Usually something gets added or changed about it as it goes around. Maybe you could knit yours a little green stocking cap?

It's always good to have a few knitted things handy, and toques are a good gift for anyone! I can't wait to see how your son's toque works out. I love the colors!
