You know you are from a small town when...

Your Memorial Day Parade lasts 5 minutes! Okay, we are going to round out the weekend with more pictures!

This is taken in front of my parents house. This parade happens every year. They always go down my parents street. Here is Grandma Geek with little Geek. Papa Geek is sitting on the steps. My chair is empty because I am taking the picture:

My Mom would kill me if she knew I put that picture up of her. She usually doesn't make that face. She's cute. Okay so if I sit in that chair and look to my right this is what I see:

How exciting! Here comes the parade!!!!

Here is a picture of the veterans from my home town (which is the purpose of the parade right?):

I think the guy in the blue shirt was my science teacher in highschool. That makes me feel a little old....I don't think he was a a WW2 vet though....

Okay next up is the high school band. Now the band always seems to stop playing music and start playing the drums whenever they get to my parents house. NOT THIS YEAR!!! Woo hooo!!!!

What would a parade be with out the cute little girl scouts?

Or boy scouts

And FIRE TRUCKS!!!!

And more FIRE TRUCKS!!!!

There you have it! The 5 minute parade. Oh and I also saw the airforce jets fly over. I love that!

Great parade! When we lived in upstate NY, the parades were pretty short as well :)

It looks like you had a great time. You're lucky your parents live so close. I really miss mine on the holidays.

I love your hats. What are you going to do with them all? Can I get the pattern from you?

That looks like a parade from my town! Ahhh! Small town America at it's best. Great hats!

Do you know why there are always firetrucks in the parades that we go to?

Because we are hot.

hahhahahaha!

Hey my husband plays guitar and is learning the banjo. Ok you are too funny. Our parade is actually smaller than yours..it may take even less time than 4 minutes. I have some cemetery pics of our band and some veterans on my blog. We don't see Elvis in our fires but we see our dog in the oddest of places, icing on a cake, pie crusts and so forth.

Hats are beautiful, love the colors.

Ooh! I love parades! You know why? Because I loooove marching bands. I think it's because I remember watching my brother in them before he dropped out of band because he thought it was uncool. I have great memories of Christmas parades and marching bands playing Jingle Bells and stuff. Yay!
