I did it!

I started a shawl! Here is my progress on Sunday afternoon:

Little arrowhead shawl.jpg

What shawl is it you ask? Why none other than The Little Arrowhead Shawl. Sure looks like a blob doesn't it?

I did some spinning too:

2 oz of alpaca. Lovely stuff.

More alpaca. I think this is more than 2 oz. Oh and it's good for the project spectrum project! Phew! I got my blue in.

This is chocolate alpaca and tussah silk. I did this last week. Nice stuff. About 2 oz.

More alpaca. I think 3 oz this time. So there you have it! I've been busy. What am I going to do with all this? Dunno. I am sure I will think of something. What do you think of the green bowl? A little theme going on there. I thought the yarn looked pretty in the green bowl so you may be seeing it displayed that way from now on.

Let's get back to progress on that shawl shall we?

CRAP! I dropped a stitch. Crappity crap crap.

Wow! your alpaca is so so so gorgeous! Do you sell the yarn? If not, you should!

Nice blob, err, shawl-to-be! It's a lovely color and pattern.

Posted by: maryes at June 26, 2006 01:42 PM

Oh, NO! I *hate* it when I drop stitches on something like that!

(the handspun is gorgeous, btw).

OH lovely spinning, I hope I get to spend some time with my wheel this evening, but first I have to attack some of the weeds that are overtaking my garden. Why is there never enough time?

I love all this yarn you're spinning. What will you do with it? Drats about that shawl! It looks like it will be very pretty.

Holy crap! You've been spinning like a crazy woman! The beginnings of your shawl look excellent!

Beautiful yarn, and the green bowl is nice too! Sorry about the shawl - I did the same thing on my first shawl.

Lace is the ultimate high maintenance lover. But what a result when it's been beaten into submission by blocking. Gorgeous colour!

I was reading your blog yesterday and my good friend Graham loved that you called yourself Big Geek. He did, however, suggest that in pictures of your family and whatnot you call yourself "MamaGeek". Just because it sounds funny. Anyways, your spinning looks lovely! I have all this roving that I need to spin up- thankfully Skein Street is helping me!

Wow Beth, it all looks gorgeous! I can't wait to see that shawl finished. You might have actually inspired me to take my knitting bag out of the car. At least then it's close by so I can look at it even if I don't feel like knitting.

The spinning rocks as well. You're a professinal. We should spin at camp!

"Ohh! I love Purple!!!" (name that movie)hahah That is a great color and the shawl looked neat. Stop dropping stiches and concentrate Grasshopper! It is the way to true enlightenment.

I love the color of the shawl!

Me 'n the dropped stitches are old friends. There's a great one on my current WIP and I've just stopped caring whether I ever pick it up or not. I suspect that you are a bit more respectful of your knitting, though! :) Love the handspun!

First of all, I gotta say, your lace yarn is BEAUTIFUL! Freaking beautiful! The shawl will be to die for, I know!

Dropping a stitch while blogging is exactly what happens when you try to do them together. Shame shame...tsk tsk
