The wheel

wheel.jpg

I didn't buy it yet. I am taking it for a "spin". I love this wheel. I am going to buy this wheel. I think the reason I like this wheel is because it is used. It was loved by someone else. It has a history to it. I like the way it looks too. It reminds me of an old fashioned wheel. A fairytale wheel. I can buy this wheel now and not have to wait until I get more money for a more expensive wheel.

Here is the spinning I have done on this already

It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine........

Here is another reason I am going to get this wheel.
This is my husband's small recording studio.

See all those gadgets? I am quite sure they add up to MORE than the cost of MY wheel. I just can't sneak a spinning wheel into the house like I can yarn or fiber. Or like he can with little gadgets.

Oh and here is one of his FOUR, yes FOUR guitars

Les Paul Studio, GIBSON LES PAUL STUDIO!!!!!

Oh yes, MINE. I may even get another one! Who's gonna stop me!

MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE!!!
Little Geek has already named the wheel "Beatrix"

I like it. I think I have a new wheel.

It IS a beautiful wheel. I like it more than any other I've seen around the interweb. Maybe it's the darker stain? The curved whatever-that-thing-is?

Plus, I love the name Beatrix. Or Beatrice.

Congratulations!

i understand the whole husband-collects-all-types-of-expensive-equipment thing. my hubby likes computers AND musical instruments.

I love old things - I love the idea of something having a patina of energy to it.

And you sound like a 2 year-old. MINE MINE MINE! :)

Nice to know I'm not the only wone who justifies yarn-related purchases by looking at her husband's gear collection.

Congrats on your new wheel, Beatrix is a looker, but then it might be because she reminds me of my Penelope.

Yeah! She looks just like my first wheel too, another Ashford Traditional named Tomales. I love it.

OMG..I'm so excited for you!!!! Now I definitely need to get that goodie box together for ya! :)

Yay for spinning wheels!

Oh honey, can I ever relate to the husband-gear thing. Holy cow. I think you might be my brotha from anotha motha. Your previously loved wheel looks so warm inviting, and I don't even spin or know much about wheels. :)

Beautiful wheel (and nice spinning!). I can relate to the husband collection thing. I always think about how much golf/piano "things" he's spent on when I'm thinking major knitting/spinning purchases!

Oh BABY! You WILL have that wheel. And you'll love her, and take her for walks, and feed her...wait. That's not right.

Oh, yeah. I remember.

You'll love her, and spin with her, and treat her right.

You GO girl!

i think that wheel is absolutely beautiful - how old is it ?

Posted by: zed at April 29, 2006 04:26 PM

The poor wheel never saw it coming... I do like old things like that for the same reason though.. so I completely understand.. good thing you saw it before I did *grin*

Yey! An Ashford Traditional was my first wheel, and she served me well - my mum has her now (I've just ordered a Hitch-Hiker - can't wait!)

And men? Jeez, we have the consant debate between yarn & books, and tools and gadgets. My arguement is that at least my wool is soft...;)

I bought two, too...

I haven't picked them up yet because I have to drive four hours round trip to do it, but they will be here before the summer. Yay :-)

I use the Chest of a Thousand Cables to justify my purchases, myself...
