The result....

I really appreciate all of your comments on what to do with my sock! I feel a little guilty because I told most of you that I would be going forward! Well, I didn't exactly lie. I tried to go forward. But I stumbled. I dropped a stitch. It was midnight on Saturday. What would you do? I ripped. Sorry! 10 of you said to keep going, 13 of you said to rip and 8 were undecided. I did however start a new sock.

Nice and simple. It really shows the yarn so much better. It is from the Vintage Sock book by Nancy Bush. It is the easy peasy one in the beginning. Madder Ribbed Sock? I think? I wanted a challenge, but this is nice too. I will definitely do the Cascading Leaves in a solid color.

Onward.... I received my final Better Pal package yesterday. YIPIEE!!!!! Take a look:

I got some Koigu!!!!! I have been wanting this for so long!!! My Better Pal was none other than Risa! Thank you so much for all of the goodies! I can't wait to parooooose her blog now!

Other news. I got a hair cut Saturday. This is what I wanted:

I don't have the courage yet to show you what it looks like! It came out very close to this. You recognize it don't you. It's the girl in the Viva Poncho book! Knitting books and knitting magazines are all I look at lately so that is my source for inspiration. Hair do inspiration. I may show you what it looks like. It is a full on face shot if I do. I haven't really shown a full on face shot yet. I like to keep my face a mystery.

Oh alright. I will show you what it looks like:

There. Satisfied? Over and out.

You're right, the plain sock does show off the yarn better. Love the haircut, I wish my hair was curly!

Posted by: Erin at February 28, 2006 01:25 PM

Ah... what a beautiful smile... and such *blue* eyes!

Posted by: Andrea at February 28, 2006 01:44 PM

Wow, you're cute! Such lovely blue eyes...and what color is that lipstick? I do love the hair cut...

Posted by: Christie at February 28, 2006 01:47 PM

The sock looks great - and so does the haircut! I desperately need a haircut myself - but I don't have the lovely curly hair you do...mine is straight and limp...not much I can do...yuck!

Posted by: Marie at February 28, 2006 01:49 PM

Hee - another face hider like me! Your hair looks lovely from here, and the sock suits the yarn quite nicely.

Posted by: PumpkinMama at February 28, 2006 01:55 PM

Nice hair....rather fun. Please tell me you didn't get the bad color she has...And you don't really need that chocolate, do you? {wink}

Ooh, I think the new sock looks lovely. And you're so fast! Holy smokes.

The new cut is cuuuute.

Posted by: katie at February 28, 2006 02:10 PM

your hair and socks look great!

Posted by: Julia at February 28, 2006 02:42 PM

if you did a side shot you wouldn't have to show your face....but it's such a cute face why don't you want to show it? luv the hair cut...what i can see of it...

Even though the decision was thrust upon you, I think you made a good choice about the yarn/pattern situation.

Very nice haircut, Beth. I am glad to see that it wasn't Loop D Loop that inspired you!

love the hair.
What better place to get fashion inspiration than in your knitting books. I think it is quite a stylish look. M

It's two minutes to ten at night and I'm still at work. Thanks for the giggle! I can't help thinking you might look a little better in the flesh! The 'do looks great, though!

Love the hair! Your facial expression is priceles. :-)

And that sock. Ok, I think the colors are just so good that it will look good however you knit it.

Posted by: Cookie at February 28, 2006 05:17 PM

See? How hard was that?

Your haircut looks cuter than the model's.

But your make-up...um...needs a bit of work! LOL!

The sock still looks pretty. Pretty colors make all the hurt go away.

Nice haul! And your hair looks cute!

Posted by: diana at February 28, 2006 07:43 PM

Aw, your haircut looks nice and those pal socks are going to be great. Good news all around!

Posted by: Karma at February 28, 2006 10:22 PM

I liked the last sock, but I suppose this pattern does show off the yarn better. I wish I could churn out socks like you. Now, I've got down the magic loop method, but I've been getting frustrated with patterns. Maybe I'm just not a sock gal...even though I desperatley want to be.

Love that hair, very cool cut. And cute smile :)

Posted by: Stacey at February 28, 2006 11:59 PM

I was one of the people who said to press on, but I take it back. The sock looks even better with the simple pattern and now I'm going to have to get some of that yarn.

I love the haircut. I have curly hair myself, and I recently got a similar cut, but I didn't have the courage to do bangs. I considered it though...maybe next time.

Cute *grin* VERY cute! And the sock looks really good too :-)

Posted by: Mia at March 1, 2006 07:41 AM

I almost didn't recognize you! The smile gave you away!

Posted by: Carol at March 1, 2006 11:18 AM

where can i get the pattern for your little felt bags...?

Posted by: lemon at March 1, 2006 02:29 PM

Love your cut! Did you get highlights, too?

I think you made the right decision on the socks. While the pattern on the first pair was pretty, it got lost in the yarn color changes. I think the yarn is to-die-for pretty and you are better off with a simple sock to show off the colorway.

Have a good week!

Love the hair- I don't think I realized your hair was curly. Looks fab, although I can't tell if you like it or not. Good for you for getting sassy hair!

Posted by: Cathi at March 1, 2006 04:50 PM

Naturally curly? I guess I should just adjust to my identity after all these years, as that is how curly my hair is if the weather is damp or humid, but not such a cool color! Glad you got spoiled too - what are you going to do with the Koigu?
