My first finished object of 2006

jaywalkersfinished_25.jpg

I think I am the last person in Blog land to make these. The infamous jaywalker socks. This is a GREAT pattern. I know I will be making more of these for sure. The pattern is easy to follow and I love how it makes verigated yarn look!

Specs:
Yarn: Knit Picks Sock Landscape Yarn 2 hanks in Rocky Mountain Dusk
Needles: Addi Turbo US size 1

Sorry, but Smudge insisted on showing these again:

What is up next for Big Geek? Well I think it's high time I made a sweater! So guess what I cast on for?

Yep

So pretty! I love the pattern too - mine are stalled midway through the 2nd sock right now.

Regarding Smudge: when my son was still in utero, he was known only as "Smudge" to me and my husband, and his future grandparents even called him that. I thought for sure he'd have the nickname for life, but luckily, once he arrived we were able to refrain from calling him that all the time. I love it!

You are definitely not the last person to make Jaywalkers. I haven't made any yet, but plan to. Maybe sometime in late 2006 I will get around to it ;) Too many other projects waiting in the wings right now. They look great. Love the colors.

I have yet to finish a Jaywalker pair of socks, so you're definitely not the last person in blogland to make them! You're turned out gorgeous and it looks like they fit you well too!

Posted by: Erin at January 11, 2006 01:31 PM

Nope. I haven't made them yet! But I do have my yarn ready! I just posted pictures on my blog.

Great job on yours!

Oh! I have Dublin Bay socks on my next-to-do list, too! I wonder if they'd work with some Paton's Kroy. I just bought a couple skeins in a gorgeous blue!

Posted by: Karma at January 11, 2006 06:11 PM

Nope, you're not the last one **raising hand** , they turned out great!

Posted by: Carrie at January 11, 2006 11:06 PM

That yarn worked up really nice! Pretty!
I have not made Jaywalkers yet, but it is probably just a matter of time. I may wait though... I still have a Dublin Bay sock to finish! It is a fun pattern, and you will enjoy it. As fast as you are, you will probably finish your pair before I even get to my second one ;)

your socks are great! and that colorway is nice. i can't wait to work on a project using my knitpicks sock yarn.

Posted by: lynette at January 12, 2006 09:15 AM

Hi! I love the socks! Ya know I think that the knit picks sock yarn - the garden and landscape stuff - maybe my favorite sock yarn. Love the purple!! I like the new pattern that you started!!

Posted by: Audrey at January 12, 2006 11:09 AM

Well, no, you wouldn't be the last person in blog land to knit those. I haven't even ever heard of them so I couldn't have knit them, now could I? Besides, knitting socks is the worst.

I'm an Upstater, too! And, I do think I am the last person to knit the Jaywalkers and they certainly don't look as good as yours! Very nicely done.
