What do you think?

I am reduced to showing you "yarn porn" because I can't show much of anything else. Until after Christmas that is.

Yarn Porn it is. But not that kind of yarn porn. This kind:

boob_25.jpg

What does the above look like to you? Yeah, me too. It really isn't a knitted bikini for me. It is the start of a hat. I am sure that it will be lovely once it grows. (I'm sure it would fit my boobs once it grows too!) Okay that is getting weird. I showed this to my husband and he said it looked like a boob. Funny thing about this whole thing is I only have 3 balls of this color. Look what else I started with this

Yes it is Wavy from Knitty. Do I think I can make both the hat and the scarf out of three measly balls of yarn? Oh it gets better.
I am knitting along on my boob, uh hat and I am doing the M1R and M1l's wrong. Surprised? Na. See look:

what did I do_50.jpg

Nice giant holes. Not very warm is it? Don't worry. I am on the right track now. I figured out what I was doing wrong. Here is where I ended up:

Now I am totally not surprised. I think I will make something else.

Over and out.

Is that Susan's live dangererously, don't swatch hat? If so, when I knit it, the DH caught me at the exact same spot in the knitting and thought the same thing - asked if I was knitting a bikini. Those guys, with the boobs on the brain. Oh, and I made the same mistakes on the M1s. Pretty yarn!

What kind of yarn is that? It's awesome, aside from it taking the form of a boob of course!

Weel wavy takes a lot of yarn, I seriously doubt you'd have had enough even without the hat...

Anyway, thank you for the free porn, your yarn looks indeed amazing, what is it? (and sorry if you already said it, pregnancy makes me think slow).

Happy knitting, anything you knit with this yarn will be beautiful.

Balls and boobs. You have the best yarn porn! {snort}

*giggle* This post made me laugh so hard I snorted water up my nose.

Absolutely gorgeous colorway, though... is it one you hand dyed?

If you don't like the "nipple" effect, use the alternative instructions. i.e., cast on 8 stitches and increase by 8 every other round. Or, start with a 3-stitch I-cord and start the increases after it's about 2 inches long. If you got it, flaunt it.

Yarn porn always gets me - 'specially in that amazing color. Which colorway is that? I need to see if my LYS has it - it looks good in Wavy...

It is very pretty- can't wait to hear which yarn it is.

Posted by: Cathi at December 13, 2005 05:11 PM

I'm with Cathi, must know what yarn that is. It looks like a great choice for either Wavy or a hat! Yummy!

Mmmm, yarn porn.

Posted by: diana at December 13, 2005 08:34 PM

I recently started a Wavy myself...but I think I'm going to have to rip it. I was determined to NOT use a row counter...but I think I'm going to have to.

I feel all dirty now looking at your yarn porn on the net! Hehe, nice colour.

Posted by: Nichola at December 14, 2005 02:53 AM

Oh dear. A lot of my knitting endeavours turn out like that, including a recent one with KSH, which is obviously really easy to frog. Not.

What a wonderful colourway! If you can't decide whether to knit the hat or Wavy, or just don't have enough, I have an idea... you can always send *me* the yarn, I'd be happy to take it off your hands ;) xxx

that color is great..one of my favorites! I say just keep going with wavy and make it really long and lush.

What is that yarn? I want some. I'm knitting Wavy right now with boring gray Paton's Merino for my brother-in-law. I'd love to knit the pattern again with something prettier like the yarn you're using.

i just knew your last picture was going to look like that....very pretty color yarn

LOVE Wavy!!! Save the yarn for the scarf!

Posted by: Jeanie at December 14, 2005 08:37 PM

hi! i know this is a totally weird question, but i thought i'd give it a shot! i was looking for a neck warmer pattern, and came across your november 2004 archives where you made the blue neck warmer with the big button. you said you got the pattern from knit 1 magazine, and i went to their website to see if they had patterns available, but i could find nothing! so, i was wondering if i could perhaps get the pattern from you (i will pay you). the neckwarmer is so cute, and i really want to make it! thanks so much for any help you can give - your blog is great!
