Let the madness begin

It isn't even Thanksgiving yet and I am panicking. I don't know why. But I want everyone to have handmade things this year. I have enough socks done. Strange they all fit me.... Then I spot this

startofribbonscarf_25.jpg

It's the ribbon scarf from Handknit Holidays. What am I thinking? I know I can finish it. But will all my stitches fit on the freakin needles? I of course cast on 150 stitches instead of the called for 100. So it's my own fault really. I will let you know if I succeed. Oh, I am using my koolaid dyed yarn for this. It looks kinda pretty!

Really, I need to calm down. I have plenty of time. Right?

depends on what else your trying to finish...looks great, when did you start it? very pretty colors...

oh my, you cast on more stitches than the pattern says?! This is such a cute scarf, but I've heard of knitters giving up because the number of stitches gets to be too many. You can do it though! I'll be looking forward to your progress.

you are CRAZY! if you started with 150 stitches, will you end up with 5000?

Posted by: kris at November 14, 2005 01:39 PM

wow!! 5000 freaking stitches. ok. you may need a longer needles, don' you think?

That color is beautiful..you did a great job dyeing it. Hang in there. I'm sure the end job will be worth the heartache!

LOVE those colors!!! I don't think you're really going to want to know how many stitches you're going to end up with on that scarf. Ignorance truly is bliss when it comes to knitting these babies.

The yarn looks great, it's amazing the colors you can get out of kool aid - although I'm afraid of what my stomach looks like after my childhood koolaid swigging years!

You are certifiable Beth.

Taking on THAT scarf? It looks amazing, don't get me wrong....but girlie! The self-torture? I didn't know you were two parts sadist!

Ooooohhhh! That yarn is pretty! I saw that scarf, but the number of stitches freaked me out!!
