Gobble Gobble

turkey_25.jpg

Ah yes, it is that time of year again where we stuff ourselves silly. Me included. I love Thanksgiving. There isn't any pressure! All you have to do is show up and eat. I am bringing the turkey, the apple pie and the acorn squash. It also means I have a 4 day weekend! Yep, no work tomorrow or Friday. And I am not one of those people that goes shopping on Black Friday. No way not me. I had a split second of insanity when I thought I might want to go to Walmart and get that Game Boy SP for the littlest Geek. But that soon vanished. Instead I am going to play catch up on some of my works in progress.

I started knitting this last Thanksgiving. It's the Ruffle Scarf from Scarf Style.

I have made some progress, I think I have 1 or 2 skeins left. I hope it is just 1 skein. It's even the suggested yarn from the pattern. So this will be nice if I ever get it done.......

I am really hoping to finish this up too:

I am giving up after 15 rows. I know I know, I only have 5 more to go. But I ran out of room on my needles. Oh and this is the Ribbon Scarf from Hand Knit Holidays

Here is something I just don't want to finish and I am trying to figure out why..........

The only thing I can put my finger on is that I don't like the texture of this yarn. I love the color of it but not the way it feels.

See I broke my vow. I said I wouldn't start another sock until the above one was finished. I lied. I am making socks for Little Geek. I did one sock in record time too! I started it on Saturday around 3:30 pm and finished it on Sunday morning! A record! Granted it is for a kid. So it went fast. I am hoping to finish the other one this weekend.

Well I guess I have my work cut out for me. I want to do some spinning, dyeing and knitting. I will let you all know on Monday if I was successful. Until then, have a safe, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Beth - I'm with you ... I wouldn't be caught dead shopping on "Black Friday". In my opinion, it's the obscene marketing of a religous and spiritual holiday that has made this upcoming
Friday "Black"!!!

Good luck finishing your projects and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

I hope by bringing the turkey you didn't mean the one in your picture!!! HAHAHAH!

Thanksgiving is just giving thanks that you can PIG OUT and I love it.

Just say NO to Black Friday! I say stay home and eat leftovers!

Oh I am always afraid of looking into my UFO bag. Usually once every few months I take it out and deem most of it ready for the frog pile!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful that I have a four day weekend. Boy, do I ever need it! Enjoy the time off. By the way, I love the socks that you don't want to finish. I think they look groovy. :)

Maybe you can finish that scarf by NEXT Thanksgiving ;)

Happy Thanksgiving! *gobble gobble*

I'm anxious to see how your ribbon scarf turns out! I, too, have the Ruffles Scarf from Scarf Style languishing in my knitting pile. I just got so bored with it! I'm not sure if I'll ever finish it.

And I agree about the Friday shopping. Not me! After stuffing my face with TWO huge meals on Thanksgiving (my husband's family and then mine) all I want to do is sleeeeeeeeep.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have not tried that Dancing yet -- I am big on texture though, so if it feels weird... hmm.
I do like the way it is knitting up though.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, Beth and family!

Can't wait to see the ribbon scarf..I really like that color

The socks really do look great- the adult ones are a KP yarn? I really like the colors on it, although if it doesn't feel great, there's not much that will save that (esp. against bare feet). What is the Ruffles yarn? It looks very nice.

And hooray for exactly matching the Little Geek's socks- so cool when yarn will do that.
