Did you ever have one of those days? »»
July 20, 2005
Okay so the honeymoon is over
You come here to see stuff right? Well, I actually have finished something! Here is the Sling Bag from the RY Classic Holiday book

I liked this! It was quick, I am going to use it and I like the color.
Specs:
Yarn: Jo Sharp Soho Summer dk 100% cotton in Umber
Crochet hook: US E
I worked up this cute little wrist cuff/bracelet thingy for the DIY show. They are going to show it, but they didn't want the pattern so I will offer it up over the next few days. I have to write it up. It is just triple crochet and I added a button. You could put a brooch or anything on it.

Here is the back

I forgot to mention that I of course went yarn shopping with the girls while in Burbank. We went to Unwind Yarn. They were great and very nice and helpful (thumbs up!) This is what I got

and

What to do with it? I love it! The stuff on top is Crystal Palace kid merino (similar to kid silk haze) and under it is this fun/funky cotton in bright orange and bright yellow. 1/2 the proceeds of the yarn go to charity so that's good for me. Well I couldn't resist the SWTC Karokie (SP) Yarn. It's purdy.
My Knit Picks order arrived while I was away

Am I gonna make socks or am I gonna make socks? What's your size?
Okay and I have been cruising along internetland and I found this. Is this not the coolest? My boobs would look great in that!
Has anyone checked out this yet? Oh my god! Go here and check out the patterns!
WOW! Gorgeous plump girls frolicking in great crochet things! Right up my ally (being a plump gal my self ;-)
Over and out

Oh that bracelet is too cute! I don't crochet, but I'll definitely give it a try! Love the Hot Lava...I was making one, but it just got too hot to knit wool. It's super easy!

The sling bag looks great! I think I will have to redo mine.. take out those unecessary extra rows. Though I am loving yours, so am kinda tempted to redo it in a nice brown color and use the cotton glace for another project!

The bag is fantastic! "My boobs would look great in this!" Well if that's not motivation... I don't know what is! :P

Oh, pretty pretty! I love my market style bag (mine was knit though) and I am sure you will like this one :) The new sock yarns you got are great--I have that Geranium in my stash. I am very intrigued by their new sock yarn (is that it on top?) Cute cuffs too--I love the button.
Have a good one, Beth!

That Hot Lava...I have been meaning to make that for ages. I just wonder if the Karabella Chunky will do or what I should knit it with...I have seen the french girls stuff too. Love it.
Glad to hear that your trip out here went well!

I'm definitely a Giselle! I wear a men's 9.5 shoe. I wonder if my boobs would look great in that cardy too? Maybe we should do a KAL to make our boobs look good.

Those are some drool-worthy yarns! The colors are great! Rachel's been talking about getting together to do some spinning soon. You up for it?

Hey Beth - Great bag! I have knitted several pairs of socks in the Knitpicks yarn and absolutely love it! The colors are great and it has a nice soft feel.
It's been a long time since we've seen you at a knitup. We have reconvened at the new Starbucks (where Nancy's used to be) in Armory Square. Hope to see you down there soon! :)

Neat bag! Well done. We officially have three sets of the same sock yarn! I have all of the colors you showed! Copy cat!! ;-) Make the red & pink socks first.

I love the crocheted cuff, my daughter would love it even more with all her buttons she could wear on it. I can't till you have the pattern ready. I love your blog.
