Did you ever have one of those days?

Where you really should just stay in bed? Yeah, everyone has had one. Why am I so different? I'm not, but everyone can appreciate this

Yeah so I finish another pair of socks (applause)

Thank you, thank you very much!

And I decide to start another pair! I mean christ I have enough sock yarn and Christmas is coming. So I pull out the new yarn from Knit Picks. The pretty red and green yarn called Geranium. I even decide to try something different! LACE socks. Okay, fine. I have the cuff done and I am working on the lace part and it isn't working out. I rip it out. This is what happened:

The weak should look away

Nasty business. Well, I am thinking this could be very ZEN right? Nope! It isn't very ZEN untangling that mess. The picture does not do it justice. It was very bad. On top of all this I have a nasty nasty sinus infection. Did I say it was nasty? It is horrible. I still have it, but I am on medication now. I digress and I did have a positive outcome

I have decided to hold off on socks for a while.

Thank goodness you posted the completed ball...otherwise that ZEN mess would have given me nightmares! ;) Great socks. I love the KnitPicks sock yarn...so I can't wait to see the lace you were going to do. Remember...sometimes you just have to jump back on the horse. :)

How horrible -- I hate untangling such messes and I know I couldn't even come close to Zen if I had to. I am interested in seeing what the yarn looks like knitted so give thise socks some blog time when you can face the yarn again.

Oh my goodness! That was definitly a yarn nightmare!

The socks look so fantastic though! Great job on those!

Sorry about your sinus infection. For lack of a better word, it sounds nasty. I do like though finished socks though. And believe me, we've all been there with the untangling and the cursing. In fact, just this weekend I had to untangle a mess of a skein that my cat thought was his personal play thing.

Ohmigosh, I dream of a yarn winder for my bday. But enough about me...nice job on the socks, boo about the other pair. Take a break and come back and attack!...after the sinus infection is gone, of course.

I love your perky socks! They are very cheerful!

Ironically, last night I also decided to take a break from socks - a least for a week - after another mistake on my fourth restart of the daffy pair. Exhaustion + knitting needles does NOT equal successful sock start up.

You know dear, you warned me about the perils lace socks! Was this a way of driving home the point?!!!

Maybe your yarn doesn't have green in it, you just sneezed on it? bawahahahahahahahahahaha

Onward through the mucus! You shall prevail. Tangly yarn be damned, and sinuses too.
