My secret pal is the best!!! OH MY GOD! Look:

It is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! I love this! I can't wait to spin it.

I have a finished object! Ding ding ding ding!!!

I think I showed this way back. I sewed a lining in it and added a crochet flower! Cute, cute cute! Here is the inside:

Did I mention, I GOT MY SECRET PAL'S BOX? Wanna see another view?

Yummy.

I went to A.C. Moore this weekend too. I picked up this interesting book. Lot's of cute things in here

I bought some yarn too, but the photos I took did not do the color justice. It is a really really bright blue.

I also worked on my next clapotis:

This yarn is really shiney, but I like it. This is the yarn I started a crochet shawl with but I didn't like it. I am liking this.

Oh by the way, my secret pal sent this:

Hee, hee, hee. I have the BEST Secret Pal!

That wool looks gorgeous. You have a great Secret Pal!!

Beth, Woke up this morning realized I had not checked in with you for a while and was a little worried something had happened. But when I went to my bloglines feeds you weren't there. Glad it was me somehow unsubscribing rather than you having something wrong. But you are back on my list and all is right in the world. I have missed you. Love the new clapotis - just started my next one in the bamboo, ocean colors.

omg, that wool is beautiful! I never spun on a wheel before getting mine, I did use a drop spindle and that kinda helped me figure out how to draft on the wheel, though it's like doing it at a different angle. I kinda learned through trial and error, once I got bulky yarn I tried to cut down to a finer one. I also used a really long leader yarn so I could get the wheel spinning before the twist hit the fiber. I think treadling was the hardest part for me.

so many pictures! i love them all! and that bag is the cutest ever.

that is such beautiful wool! oh, and sorrry about not answering your comments earlier, too much school and work. unfortunately, i don't think i'm the jayme you're looking for, but i hope you find her!

Posted by: jayme at February 16, 2005 07:02 PM

I love your purse. So cute! Where did you get the pattern?

Posted by: Angela at February 16, 2005 08:51 PM

That is a really cute purse. It looks easy too! Did you use a pattern? All I need is some crazy fabric for lining and I might have to whip one of those out for myself!

Posted by: molly at February 18, 2005 09:18 AM

Beth, the gal that sent you the post card just ordered a drop spindle kit! Wahoo, the madness continues to spread!!! I used the loot you got from Frenecreek to push her over the edge.

Spinning is akin to jumping out of a plane without a parachute for me...however, even I could be tempeted with all that fibery goodness.

Posted by: Jacqueline at February 19, 2005 01:45 AM

Wow! That fiber is fantastic! The color!

I love your bag. The lining is perfect and the flower too. So great!

Do you have a wheel?? Mind sharing what kind?? I've got the bug and trying to narrow down good wheels for beginners. Any suggestions?? Thanks....

I too am curious about the little bag with the orange flower. I'm a new knitter and I'm wondering if there was a pattern involved and what yarn you used. I love your blog and your knitting.
