Adult ADD

I have finally come to terms that I have it. Adult ADD. I know there is a drug I can take, or perhaps I shouldn't buy so many knitting books/knitting magazines. Although, I did work on these 3 things:

Exhibit A

Yes it is a secret. But I will tell you this. It is the cotton yarn that you make dish cloths out of. I love the color of this! And its cheap too!

Exhibit B

I am not going to let this go to the great unfinished project graveyard. I am 1/2 done. I will keep on plugging away on it.

Exhibit C

I started this about a week and a half ago. Great little take along project. This is as far as I have gotten though.......

And it's all because of these:

I am soooo excited I found the latest Rebecca! I know I know, it has been out a while. We have 4 yarn stores in the Greater Syracuse area and I got these books at my least favorite one. :-(

The people in this store are the snobbiest people I have ever met! Excluding my self (hee hee) Oh well.

Now I hope my current projects don't suffer because I wanna make these:

Sigh........................................I want to make everything!
I still haven't forgotten you curlycue scarf

Hey, those all look great! The bag from the Laines Du Nord book is really cute, and I've been considering buying it sometime soon.

You've been busy! Keep plugging away at the Clapotis...I just finished mine...it was a chore, but it's done and it's fabulous!

You're as bad as I am! You should see what arrived in today's mail! I'm about to suffer from Adult ADD with you.

Lovely new knits, Beth! I like this cotton you are knitting up too. Cute colors! Your future knit projects look great. I love that Noro V purse!

Hope your week is going well!

what is that purplish yarn? and where can i find some?

i love it...

Posted by: jackie at February 22, 2005 10:23 AM

Well, at least everything you want to make is gorgeous!

Adult ADD - give me a break - you are just a knitter. Knitters can have 100 projects going and be happy (oh, maybe yarn is the drug!!)- And plug away at the Clapotis - I love mine in gray, dull to make but I wear it all the time cause it is a neutral color.

Talk about having ADD! You're right! But you see, you're a little different because you manage to finish the things you're working on even if you're tempted by something else (say Rebecca?!?!)

I currently have 15 WIPs...just got down to 15 from 18!!! I won a prize from Else at knottyminds.com for having the most. I know it's nothing to brag about. Even my 11 year old said, "I think four is a good number of knitting projects to have going". Workin' on it babe! :-) Then, my SP4 just sent me the coolest of cool sock yarns...

All great projects.

Just FYI, there is a mistake in the Trana Hat pattern. Google for errata before you begin. I struggled with it until I realized it wasn't me, there is a mistake in the book. I made it in the Noro though, and it turned out beautifully.

I love a post with lots of pictures :)

Oh, and let me know if you ever want anymore cds. I promise it wont take me as long as last time to get them to you...

Thanks!!

Wow, hon! You have your hands full but YOU CAN DO IT. I totally understand about the ADD thing. Maybe it's contagious? The two hardest things about knitting? Guage and finishing the item, of course! Just kidding.

i also completely understand about the ADD thing, i have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and instead of doing stupid unproductive shit like counting random items and preforming little "rituals", i do things like crafts. in fact i made a 4 page list of books i wanted to borrow from the library, hahaha i wasn't kidding about the OCD, but anyway knitting is one of the best things other than drugs (which i can't stand) that helps because it keeps my hands from fidgeting, well not really, but they fidget in a good/productive way - you know what i mean, i hope. your stuff looks really nice too by the way, it's torture waiting for next month to finally get here so i can have some money to buy some wool!

sorry that was probably TMI but hey, nice to meet ya

I think we all have a bit of ADD - there is so much information floating around in our heads and so many ideas and so many things that we're passionate about... sometimes it's hard to break it down to one (or three) thing at a time. LOVE the patterns from the Rebecca magazine - I think I need to get that one. ;-Rebecca

Those are all great projects! Oh, and I know what type of yarn that is that you're making dishcloths out of - you're secrets out! Okay, I won't tell if you don't want me to. ^_^ I love that colour too, and the price sure is right. You can buy those summer colours from last year in large economy balls now. A good time to stock up.
