Not sure what category this should be so...
I am going to file this under the "life" category because, well it is about what happened this weekend. Don't worry, there is knitting involved.
We had a little party this weekend! Yippeee!!! I gave out presents to the girls. Well the girls that were there! I have a great bunch of friends! Generous, creative, great bakers, umm what else?
My friend Theresa came to the party, I gave her these:

This is what you do if you don't want to weave in the ends.
This is what Theresa brought:

That my friends is Ricochet He has a band you know, you will see them later.
Note: Theresa brought the mask, not the child.
I gave out another neckwarmer, this is Margaret, she is Theresa's sister

She brought the most delicious cake!!!!!! (no picture sorry)
This is my friend Cheryl ( I owe her a sweater )

This is what Cheryl brought:

Kitty Litter Cake! Yes it is edible and delicious, I might add (it looks bad but it's not) This had me laughing sooooo hard! (the cake)
I made a couple of more neckwarmers but I didn't get a picture of Pegi or Debbie. (ooops)
The best part of the evening was the entertainment.
Ladies and Gentlemen, you will see a picture of the debut of the new band
CROSSBONES

Dan (my son) is the leader (and author of the title of the band), my husband is on the left, then Woodie and Pat.
They were, um, interesting. I think they need to work some bugs out. Very improvisational!
Well there you have it, my life with a few finished projects and the people who love them. (I hope)

that is so great! i love the band! although you need to get those grown men off their arses - a band called crossbones can't have members sitting down during the gig! ricochet is allowed, of course - we don't like the drummers to be standing up.
i definitely expect their cd in the mail soon!

Hi Beth,
I couldn't find your e-mail on the site, so I'm using your Comments feature to contact you. I found out about your blog because it's listed in the MoonArts portfolio. I like the way they designed your blog and the others in their portfolio. I like that simple yet snazzy school of design. I e-mailed them a request for a quote, but they haven't gotten back to me.
Just out of curiosity, how much did it set you back to have them design your blog? Did you give them some concept to start with, or did you just tell them you were a knitter and they took it from there? Did you have them design just the banner or did they do the whole site? Did they give you multiple versions to chose from, or is your current design the only one they did for you?
Thanks,
Dave

Kitty litter cake?!? Now that is definitely something I've never seen before. I've seen sand cake, I've seen dirt cake, but I've never seen kitty litter cake.... until now. Thank you for enlightening me!

Crossbones totally Rock! Your son's mask reminds me a little bit of a mexican wrestler. Maybe he could change the name to something latin (what is the spanish word for Crossbones?) and mandate that all band members must wear masks. They could be the next big thing. *snicker* You could even knit them some masks... http://sbfrogger.blogspot.com/2004/10/scary-knitting.html
