I really hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year.

Please remember to give your families extra hugs and kisses. Those who lost families and loved ones in the tsunami's, my heart goes out to all of you.

Well, I have been away, not AWAY AWAY, but away from the blog. I have been knitting my fingers to the bone. But I do have pictures to show for it. They are Christmas presents. Well all except 2.

I finished my mother-in-laws scarf. OH MY, I am in love with Alpaca! The color of this picture is dead on too. The yarn is a raspberry color. And SOFT! mmmmmm...............

j moms scarf

Here is the hat I can't make enough of

Helens hat

this is for my friend Helen at work. I used the same yarn as my flower basket shawl. I held 2 strands together. It is really bulky and warm. I hope she likes it!

These next 2 are well, just in case presents. The purple one is mine, I have been wearing it all the time. The green one is for whoever. I have a blue one too, but I haven't sewn it up yet. It is all left over yarn from my harlot poncho!

Julia came over to my house over the weekend and she needed help with a bootie. I made one (but I still have to do the other one) It is from the calendar with all the patterns in it. I really like this bootie, it is a little big......

Suki insisted on being photographed with the bootie, she loves attention, don't you think?

And finally a picture of Aiblhinn.

This is a good mindless project that I can work on over the holidays. I love the yarn, don't ask me what it is. It came out of the stash box with out a label. I had 3 skeins. I think I will have enough. I agree with all of you, it is a design element. It is for me too, so nobody will know.

Yes, I know, but I can't help my self! I don't even have all of my Christmas presents done yet and I am starting Aiblhinn! whatever.

Of course, the knitting god's or who ever they are are getting their revenge. I have no idea what I did, but I thought I cast on the right amount of stitches. I am cruising along with the bobbles, and I get to the end and I don't have the correct number of stitches! Not to worry, I was going to rip it out to the spot of my mistake. But I realized I would have to redo all of those bobbles. Nope not me, I did 4 stitches between 1 set of bobbles and made up the difference! I am back on track.

Hey every knitting project has to have a mistake in it right?

Pictures hopefully tomorrow, I am not that far on it anyway.

Not sure what category this should be so...

I am going to file this under the "life" category because, well it is about what happened this weekend. Don't worry, there is knitting involved.

We had a little party this weekend! Yippeee!!! I gave out presents to the girls. Well the girls that were there! I have a great bunch of friends! Generous, creative, great bakers, umm what else?
My friend Theresa came to the party, I gave her these:

theresa with hat

theresa with neckwarmer

This is what you do if you don't want to weave in the ends.

This is what Theresa brought:

wrestling mask

That my friends is Ricochet He has a band you know, you will see them later.
Note: Theresa brought the mask, not the child.

I gave out another neckwarmer, this is Margaret, she is Theresa's sister

margaret with neckwarmer

She brought the most delicious cake!!!!!! (no picture sorry)

This is my friend Cheryl ( I owe her a sweater )

cheryl with neckwarmer 2

This is what Cheryl brought:

kitty litter cake

Kitty Litter Cake! Yes it is edible and delicious, I might add (it looks bad but it's not) This had me laughing sooooo hard! (the cake)

I made a couple of more neckwarmers but I didn't get a picture of Pegi or Debbie. (ooops)

The best part of the evening was the entertainment.
Ladies and Gentlemen, you will see a picture of the debut of the new band

Dan (my son) is the leader (and author of the title of the band), my husband is on the left, then Woodie and Pat.
They were, um, interesting. I think they need to work some bugs out. Very improvisational!

Well there you have it, my life with a few finished projects and the people who love them. (I hope)

I am back! Guided By Beers were, well, um, interesting. They were entertaining, but they really sucked. Bob was hammered by the end of the night, as were many of the audience members!

If you have read my "about me" section you will know how much I am intrigued by celebrity gossip (#12) and I am always on the look out for them. Not that we get many celebrities in Syracuse, but I am very excited to be sharing the fact that I will now have to change #61 on my “about me” section! I SAW A FREAKIN MOVIE STAR!!!!! Wanna know who?

Yep Chloe Sevigney! I stood right next to her! She is a big GBV fan! I of course did not have the courage to talk to her.

I also saw this guy

conor oberst

Yep, none other than Mr. Emo himself Conor Oberst! Pollard was making fun of him. He picks on a lot of bands. I also saw Albert Hammond Jr. from the Strokes but I can't find a picture of him out there in internet land!

I had a wonderful time in NYC. I went to this yarn store. It wasn't that great. It is a cafe and a yarn store in 1. It was crowded and people were not very helpful. I did finish some things on the train ride down. I can't share until after Christmas. Sorry! But that's it for now!

It's that time again!

I am so freakin excited!
I am going to see him

uncle bob

Opening up for them is non other than the fabulous CHAVEZ

I sorta feel like a dead head groupie, but I'm not! This is the last time I will be seeing them as Guided by Beers (sniffle sniffle) Ah who knows, alot of bands say they are breaking up then get back together because they need the money!

I just noticed that my favorite alpaca below has eyelashes's!!! How cute is he/she now?

Oh, is anyone out there going to be at this show on Saturday? It is in NYC, I would love to meet any fellow knit bloggers and GBV fans!

Rock on.
